Teaching Children to Fish
Parents that want to take their kids or grandchildren fishing, but don’t fish themselves, receive free casting lessons at Eden Valley Guest Ranch. Learning to cast a fishing pole takes space. It is important that catching a fish in a reasonable amount of time be considered. We teach casting with a fishing pole in the parking lot at Eden Valley Guest Ranch to prepare parents and children to go to the lake. Teaching young children to fish can be easier and more fun if you select an environment suitable for children. Call us for details!
Eden Valley will loan guests a fishing pole ready to go to the lake! Just Ask.
Trees and bushes can be challenging when kids (or adults) are learning to cast or bring in a fighting fish. Instead of learning in a boat, fishing from shore during the learning phase can make the whole process easier for everyone, especially young children. The shoreline needs to be shallow along the bank for safety, yet deep enough where the hook is cast to find fish. Some lakes are better than others for young kids. Our guests have had considerable success at Sidley Lake, which is just a few miles north of Eden Valley Guest Ranch.
Always ask the locals how the fishing would be for kids for each lake you consider.
